So over the last couple of days around a foot of fresh snow fell here in Breckenridge. The riding was great and to have a couple powder days so early in the season makes it even more exciting. The storm was pretty serious and left most of Colorado covered in a fresh layer of snow. The biggest numbers were seen down in the San Juans with Wolf Creek reporting 23 inches and Silverton getting 2+ feet in the alpine!
The catch to the storm was the arctic front followed. Last night we hit a record low of -15 degrees (previous was set in 1972). I have the RV pretty well insulated and ready for winter, but when you see temps like these all bets are off. The heater is definitely working overtime and the water lines in the bathroom are frozen solid. I put the electric heater in the bathroom trying to thaw them out but no luck. I have also noticed the snow I track in doesn't seem to be melting.... Looks like a few more days of these frigid temps then hopefully back to something a little more reasonable. When I finally mustered the courage to head outside I was greeted with this view, it suddenly didn't seem so bad.
