I was offered a job with the Breckenridge Ski and Ride school teaching children's snowboarding. After passing a physical fitness test it was off to a week of training starting mid December. We trained as a group going over some instruction techniques and most importantly, how to get through the day with upwards of 8 kids on a 3000 acre mountain. We also went over some riding skills that helped to sharpen my abilities as a snowboarder.
The next couple weeks flew by. We finished training just before the holiday rush started, no break after an exhausting week of training. Only weeks earlier I was in charge of nearly 50 union construction workers at a power plant in a corn field in Iowa. Now I'm wrangling a handful of snowboarders from all corners of the globe, on a mountain, in one of the greatest places on earth.
It is definitely interesting meeting the people that visit the Summit County area. The majority were from the states but within the first couple days I had met families from Australia, South America, Europe, and New Zealand. Now that the holidays are over we are back to a more normal routine and things are not as crazy which is nice.
